The Department of the Interior is seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Executive Service (SES) position of State Director, Oregon/Washington, Bureau of Land Management. This role serves as the direct, on-site extension of the Director, BLM, providing executive leadership and direction for all Bureau actions within Oregon and Washington.
Key Duties:
- Establish statewide program goals and priorities for natural resources.
- Provide executive leadership for Bureau actions in alignment with Departmental objectives.
- Serve as the focal point for the Bureau at the State Office level, engaging in tribal consultation and coordinating with Federal, state, and local government officials.
- Lead the BLM State program commitment to automation and modernization.
- Develop and execute resource management, technical support, and administrative programs.
Qualifications:
- Submit a maximum two-page resume demonstrating two Technical Qualifications (TQ): Executive Leadership in Statewide Public Land and Resource Management; and Strategic Direction, Policy Implementation, and Intergovernmental Collaboration.
- Demonstrate five Executive Core Qualifications (ECQ).
- Typically requires experience at the GS-15 level or equivalent in the private sector/NGOs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; SES members serve a 1-year probationary period and file an OGE-278 financial disclosure.
