Position Summary
The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer for the College of Aerospace, Computing, Engineering and Design (CACED) with responsibility for academic and outreach leadership and management of resources, including faculty and staff, physical facilities, and budget. The Dean serves as the lead in representing the College on campus and to the outside world, including alumni, donors, and other external stakeholders.
The Dean will set the standard of intellectual engagement and accomplishment, provide strategic vision and operational leadership to all aspects of academic and scholarly programs, promote synergies within the College and university, and encourage opportunities for distinctive programmatic innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advancing faculty scholarly activities and encouraging interdisciplinary opportunities
- Representing the College to senior administration in securing resource support
- Participating in campus-wide policy development as a member of MSU Denver's senior leadership team
- Articulating the vision, mission, goals, and programs of the College to the University community and external stakeholders
- Providing leadership to ensure excellence through diversity in undergraduate and graduate programs and faculty recruitment
- Leading fundraising and external relations efforts
- Strategic planning and implementing the vision, mission, and goals for the College
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate or terminal degree in a related field represented by CACED academic programs
- Outstanding record of scholarly achievement commensurate with appointment as full professor
- History of providing students with a high-quality educational experience
- Interest and skills necessary for fundraising and securing private support
- Experience as a seasoned, decisive leader with strong organizational and consensus-building skills
- Record of success in recruiting and retaining talented and diverse faculty
- Well-developed fiscal management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Track record of success in fundraising and securing private support from donors
- Record of success in leading through innovative organizational change
- Experience working in a highly complex institutional environment
- Demonstrated ability to build multidisciplinary programs
Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 with a start date in August 2026.
